- From the User’s Page, click on Tools.
- Scroll down to the Master Class List and click on it.
- At the Master Class List page, scroll to the bottom and click on Add New Training Class as illustrated below.
- Enter the information requested. A drop down menu organizes training into similar groups. In this example, a class titled Customer Safety has been added and placed in the OSHA and Safety Related Courses category. Enter the number of months until employees should retake the class in the Renew field. Once all information is entered, click on Save.
- The class has now been added to the Master Class List.
Next, you must add this course to the Library of classes for this location in order for VSM to record and track class data.
Add Location Specific Course to Library for Tracking
- Return to the Tools page and scroll down to the Master Class List.
- Open the Master Class List and locate the newly created class within the list. Place a check mark in the box to the left of the class title.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page, click on Save.
- The class has been added to the Library for this location and can be assigned to individuals and training groups as desired.
Since location specific classes are unique to your location, the training content is not in the computer. The class can’t be taken online and must be conducted as Class Based Training. Next you must categorize the type of training.
Categorize Training as Class Based Training
- Return to the User’s page and click on the Tools page.
- Scroll down and open the following page by clicking on Class Based Training.

- Enter the Training Date and Trainer.
- Scroll down the list of classes and select the class by placing a check in the box to the left of the title, in this example, Customer Safety. (Select only one class.)
- Scroll to the bottom and click Save. The following screen appears:

- This screen shows the date for the class, the trainer and the class title.
- From the list of employees, select those who attended or are assigned to attend by clicking in the box to the left of the name.
- When all information is entered, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
- The Class Information and Employee Roster page appears and summarizes the record for this class.
- In the upper right corner, there is a Print View icon. By clicking there, a screen appears that can be printed for filing or for posting if the class is to be held in the future.

VSM allows the user to create location specific classes, add them to the location library, and record what information pertains to the class. The bottom line – VSM simplifies tracking all this training information. Any time in the future that this class needs to be repeated, VSM will notify the site administrator.
Location Specific Training Classes
Many companies have situations requiring specific training that only pertains to a certain location.
Creating a location specific class, identifying who needs training and recording who has been trained can become a paperwork nightmare. The Virtual Safety Manager (VSM) can help you solve part of that problem.
